Welcome to Bianca's Barnet! A place for all things Eastenders from a superfan's POV. 

Whether you’ve watched since 1985 or you’ve only recently found yourself hooked on Albert Square, Bianca’s Barnet is your place for EastEnders nostalgia, opinions, laughs, obsession and even at times, hate watching, and a whole lot of Walford gossip.

Why Bianca's Barnet? Well, she did/does have a lovely and iconic mane of hair and this is an iconic show, plus in the early days she did go on about people's barnets, and I'm here for it! I know she is not in the show as I write this, but she stands for all that is icionic about Eastenders. Is she my favorite character? Nope. That is a really tough one to answer and maybe we will take a deep dive into who we love and who we love to hate in upcoming posts, but if I had to pick someone, I'd say it's good ole' Bradders. That's right, ginger teen Bradley Branning. When he rocked up to the Square he was an utter delight. His "gran" Dot Branning had his grandad Jim rush out to the market and buy a CD for him to make him feel right at home. Never having met the ginger fella before she said to get him some "gangsta rap" as it's "all the rage" with the teens. Grandpa Jim came back with a CD alright, he said he'd picked up a gangsta rap CD by an artist called "P. Didd-ly." Bradley's reaction, dressed as a full on preppy, was priceless! And the rest is history.

Played by the brilliant Charlie Clements, the storyline between Max and Stacey and Bradley and the aftermath was the best Eastenders has ever been. So maybe this should be called "Bradley's Barnet," but it somehow just doesn't have the same ring to it!

So here's a little about me: I have seen every single episode ever aired of Eastenders starting in 1985 to the present day, which as of this writing, August 2026. I have watched the last 26 years in real time, and then went back and watched every episode that was unavailable here in the U.S. since the 1985 pilot episode.

I have been an obsessed fan, reading anything I could also get my hands on, dressing my baby in an Eastenders onesie, and having her grow into a teen who also now watches with me after school as it's been a constant in her life. Adding a caveat that I did grow up in England, but that was years before Eastenders even aired, (although I did watch Grange Hill after school. which produced a lot of EE characters, including Michelle and Mark Fowler!)

I miss those days of brilliant must watch TV. Sadly, I mainly only hate watch now. I know there are some new fan sites, podcasts and others that dare not say a negative thing about what has happened to the writing in the show, or the cast. But I will always call it out as I see it and feel free to chip in with your experiences, good, bad and ugly! But it's mainly good, and that's why I haven't stopped watching 40 years of the program. That's more dedication than I have had for anything else. Truly.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the current era of Eastenders. I love this show. even when I hate watch and hope we can build a community of fans to talk about both the good ole' days and the current decline into absurdity. Thanks for visiting!
